Your Utility Bill
Over the past few years you have seen changes in the presentation of your utility invoice. The Ontario Government has changed your invoice to show four groupings:

Electricity Charge: This charge is for the electricity supplied to you. Customers can purchase electricity through Midland Power at the RPP (Regulated Price Plan) or through a licenses electricity retailer at a contract price. Customers should always compare the RPP prices to the retailer contract prices before signing a contract.

Delivery Charge: This charge includes the costs of delivering the electricity along the high-voltage transmission system from the generating stations to Midland Power Utility Corporation, and then to your home or business. This charge was previously shown as the transmission connection charge, transmission network service charge, the distribution charge and the monthly service charges.

Regulatory Charges: This charge includes the cost of administering the wholesale electricity system and maintaining the reliability of the provincial grid.

Debt Retirement Charge: This charge was set by the Ontario Ministry of Finance to pay down the debt of the former Ontario Hydro.
